Will you help save veterans' lives?

Horses and Heroes is a reality TV series, which promotes healing rather than bad behavior. Although Equine Therapy will be the stage, the focus will remain on the veterans and how their lives as well as those of their families were changed by the physical and emotional challenges brought into their lives by war.

Veterans supporting veterans has always been more effective than working with civilian therapists. They have been there and done that, which is why they know when to cut slack and when to call the other on the BS.

Each season, Horses and Heroes will bring together eight veterans, who want to reclaim their lives from their physical and emotional challenges. They will support each other as they work with the horses and tell their stories.

Veterans can't go back and make a brand new start, but they can start from now and make a brand new end. Together they will give each other the strength and courage they need to change their directions of their lives toward the new end.

Giving veterans options

Bobby Kilgore, the co-host of Horses and Heroes, interviewed Jeannette Taper on the Internet radio show, Until you walk the path, You don't know where it goes. They talked about her experiences working at the VA as well as sharing her reasons for becoming a whistle blower. Towards the end of the show, there is contact information for the VA, including Robert McDonald, the VA, and the news networks.

Horses and Heroes combines the concepts a talk show with that of a documentary, by intertwining the spontaneity of a talk show with the scripted informational aspects of a documentary. It will utilize both interviews and practical demonstrations of horse therapy to give the audience a full understanding of how and why working with the horses help veterans heal. Although Equine Therapy will be the stage, the primary focus will be on the eight veterans as they sharing what they experienced while they served our country and how those events had a lasting effect on their lives as well as on those who love them.

Horses and Heroes is not about pointing fingers or creating a political firestorm. It is a documentary series, which will help military personnel and veterans find a new way to cope with the physical and emotional challenges brought into their lives by war. Equine Therapy does not involve drugs nor lying on a couch and spilling their guts to a therapist. What it does do is help them find new ways to see and react to their emotional triggers. It helps their bodies remember how it used to work. It can't replace what was lost, but it can give them the confidence to see that they are more than the sum of their body parts. Horses and Heroes will give veterans and military personnel the information they need to find alternative healing solutions, which can help lower the suicide rate.

Can Veterans Rebuild Their Lives?

All veterans' lives matter from Theresa Chaze on Vimeo.

A chance meeting created Horses and Heroes.  I met an elderly gentleman in the Borders café.  He was wearing a hat that identified him as a veteran.  I thanked him for his service and we started chatting about his experiences in WW II.  At the time, I was mentally taking notes for a scripted series I was writing called, Operation Home Base; however, our conversation showed me that I had the means to help in a very meaningful way.

His name was William Greene.  Decades later, he still hadn’t come to terms with his guilt and regret.  He survived, but his many of buddies didn’t.  He killed good men just because of where they happen to be born.  Through him, I connected the dots between Operation Home Base and another project, which lead to the creation of Horses and Heroes.

It is easy to get political and throw verbal rock at individuals and agencies.  But what good does it really do?  Pointing out the problem doesn’t create solutions.  Everyone knows what needs to be done.  But many people are too busy pointing fingers to actually find answers.

Horses and Heroes is my solution.  It is a Realty TV series that focuses on healing rather than glorifying bad behavior.  Working with the horses helps veterans find new ways to cope with their physical and emotional challenges.  Telling their stories in a safe, supportive environment gives them the means to face their ghosts head on.   Horses and Heroes can’t get them back what they lost.  War took that person. Yet it doesn’t have to be the end of their story.  One of my favorite sayings is, “You can’t go back and make a brand new start, but you can start from now and make a brand new end.”  Horses and Heroes will help veterans find the strength and courage within themselves to rebuild their lives and create that brand new end.

Everyone serves in the own way.  Although, I don’t have the temperament for the military, I greatly respect those who stand the wall.  I choose use my talents to help veterans tell their stories in such a way that they will heal themselves and show others that healing is possible.

VA Whistle Blower speaks out

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes will be chatting with veteran and VA whistle blower, Jeannette Taper on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1 pm eastern.

Jeannette Taper has 30 years of combined military service. Like many other service members, she has experienced traumatic events that changed her life forever. The first was a simple back surgery between the T8-T9 that went wrong and she left the hospital in a wheel chair. The second event happened during her recovery from surgery, when she was sexual assaulted. That was the beginning of my journey to heal through hell. She was recruited by the VA to as a Peer Support Specialist. She was assigned to the Cheyenne Medical Center. She learned that of “Ethical Boundaries in the Patient-Clinician Relationships “ had very little meaning to other members of the staff.

Tune into http://www.blogtalkradio.com/theresachaze on Wednesday November 11, 1 pm eastern to be learn more of the details of what happens to those who speak the truth about the VA . The phone lines and chat will be available for those who wish to ask questions. The phone number is (347) 838-9927.

The interview will be available in the archives at

Patriotism for Profit

November 11 is a day to honor those who have served our nation during peace time as well as war. However, it has been corrupted by those who put profits over people by turning it into another marketing tool.

To learn more how you can help veterans find new coping skills for their physical and emotional challenges visit Horses and Heroes' website

Horses and Heroes is not about pointing fingers or creating a political firestorm. It can’t fix the system nor will is a cure all. What it will do is show that there are alternatives, which more effectively help military personnel and veterans to heal their way home. They can't go back and make a brand new start, but they can start from the now and make a brand new end. We want veterans and military personnel to know that we have their back.

Book Trailers: How to promote your book

Authors!  Time to prepare for the holiday giving season by helping your readers and those who love them find your books. Whether your book is print or electronic, the most effective way to reach your readers is through your website, blog, and through social networking.  Writing blogs, tweeting, or buying ads does help the search engines find your work, but they are not as effective as a video, which entices and teases your readers?

Bean Counters Don't Own the Beans

Bean counters don’t own the beans, yet they treat the funds like their own private stash.  Counting them doesn’t give them ownership. The beans always have and always will belong to the depositors and investors.   It is a very simple concept, yet the money managers have forgotten that they are stewards not masters of the funds that have been entrusted to them.

Innovators create the products and services.  Workers make the products and service available for purchase.   It is their combined efforts that create prosperity.  Without them, bean counters would have nothing to count. Yet in the recent decades the focus and power has shifted away from those, who actually keep the country financially strong to those who live off their work.

The money in the banks belongs the individuals and companies, who deposited it there for safe keeping.  However, it is the cycle of saving and lending that benefits everyone. Without depositors, the bank has nothing to lend.  Without lenders, the bank can’t pay the depositors interest.  The money managers only keep the records of transactions.  Yet, the upper management, especially the CEOs, find new ways to siphon off funds to benefit themselves.  High salaries and perks for the upper management have become the norm rather than the exception.

Investors may help financially create innovation, but without the innovators there would be product therefore no profit.  Paying investors a return balances out the financial risk they took by supporting the individual or company.  Again this is a very simple process, which has been corrupted by money managers, who have injected themselves into the process.  Hedge fund managers, stock brokers, etc. contribute very little and risk even less, yet they make a profit from both sides.

The bean counters thinking they own the beans, instead of just managing this country’s wealth has created the imbalance that keeps the country from financially stabilizing.  Money managers have usurped financial control, because individuals and companies let them have it.  In 1929, the stock market crash and banks failed, because people pulled their money out.  They stopped buying what the money managers were selling and there was nothing they could do about it.  Yet, whether an investor or depositor, they continue have all the power; they just don’t see that they have alternatives.  Credit unions and smaller banks focus more on supporting the both the depositor and the borrower, rather than creating a top heavy corporate structure.  Private investment, otherwise known as a non-public offerings, holds the same risk as investment in the stock market or through hedge funds, but it excludes the middle men, who profit without risk.   Private investment makes the financial agreements more personal and profitable for all involved.  Without the intermediary fees, the company receive more funding and the investor receives more of a return.

What's more important? Talent or Numbers?

I would like your help proving a point. Since the bean counters took over the entertainment industry, it has been less about talent and nearly completely about numbers. I would like your help using that misconception against them. The prime example is Michael Keaton. He is a very talented actor who has done amazing work, but his random numbers on IMDB said he was cold until he did Birdman. Sally Kirkland is another example. She is an Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner. Yet simply because she doesn't have people visiting her IMDB page on a regular basis, she is not considered marketable. It seems the numbers people only want what other people have. That is the fallacy that I want to use against them. Sally will be starring as Amanda in Never Can Say Good-bye. If you believe that talent should matter more than random numbers, I am asking you to visit her IMDB page as well as mine and Never Can Say Good-bye’s page. You need to stay about 30 seconds for it to register. You don’t need to have an account. It would also help if you click on the Facebook like button. Please share my request with your friends, family, and on your social networking sites. Together we can prove the bean counters wrong. Thank you in advance.

Do actresses over 40 have the right to complain about the roles they are offere?

So many actresses have been complaining about the quality of the roles that they are being offered, especially those actresses over 40.   Yet they do so little to change the industry.    It’s easy to point out the problems, but talk without action is merely whining.

Never Can Say Good-bye has several roles that portray women over 40 as intelligent, strong, and beautiful, including the lead.  Instead of focusing on their bodies or what they look like, these roles challenge them to face their fears and heal their emotional pain.
It’s a low budget independent film with a solid script in a genre that remains popular in the domestic and foreign markets.  The low budget will to prove two things-- you don’t need a big budget to produce quality and that film can be profitable if you focus on innovation rather that fixing in post.  A lower budget also means a higher profitability margin, which in the end will bring more money for the investors as well as the cast and production team.

With the logline, “The ghost of a murdered child brings his reincarnated parents back together. They need to forgive so that he will be freed to reincarnate? Can they forgive or will they take revenge on his murderer?” Never Can Say Good-bye is comparable to Ghost, The Others, and the original Dark Shadows series.

Elizabeth: A woman in her late 40's, any ethnic background, who only comes emotionally alive in the pages of her novels. Her fear and distrust of others kept her from building any close bonds of friendship. She was an island onto herself and she liked it that way.
Arriving in Coyote Springs, she is suddenly confronted by memories she doesn't understand. By the time, she realizes what is happening the rage and guilt have force her down a path that can only end in murder. The only question that remains will she learn forgiveness or she finally have her revenge.

Judy:  A woman in her early 50's who looks like she could be related to the character Amanda. Although she comes off as a hard ass controlling bitch, she is in fact a wounded soul, who learns her whole life has been a lie.
