Marcus Jones Inspires Alternatives to Violence.

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes is hosting Marcus Jones on January 19, 2012 at 1 pm eastern. As an author and talk show host, Jones inspires others to find alternatives to violence.

Marcus Jones is a celebrated and honored Chicago-based author, talk-show host and motivational speaker dedicated to spreading the messages of nonviolence and empowerment through education and inspiring youth. He is the author of the book “Everyone Has a Story…This Is Mine,” and is currently the host of the Chicago talk show “Everyone Has a Story.”

Jones uses his own unique and inspiring story of growing up on the South Side of Chicago and, like so many other of Chicago’s impoverished youth on the South Side, pursued a life that ultimately led him to prison…and nearly cost him his life. Now a successful author and public speaker, Jones inspires others to overcome life’s challenges and seemingly insurmountable obstacles. He speaks regularly to Chicago youth on issues regarding gang violence, education and self-motivation, and improving one’s life through dedication, hard work, and the importance of God and family.

In June 2010, Marquis Who's Who has selected Marcus Jones’ biography for inclusion in the forthcoming 2011 Edition. On May 10, 2010 Jan Schakowsky Member of Congress formally recognized expressed her appreciation with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition. April 5, 2010, Governor Pat Quinn of the State of Illinois formally recognized Marcus for his leadership, dedication, service and inspiration to the youth of Illinois. He has also been formally acknowledged in a joint resolution by the City Council of Chicago in March 2010 and the Inspiration Corporation for his outstanding contributions to the African American Heritage Month Celebration in February 2010.
